DWINASE ZONAL COUNCIL

Dwinase Zonal Council is one of the six (6) Zonal Councils in the SefwiWiawso Municipal Assembly (SWMA). It shares boundaries with Boako Zonal Council, Wiawso Zonal Council, AhwiaZonal Council and Akontombra.

The 2010PHC estimated the population of the Zonal Council as 16,321 with 2,187 houses and 1,897 households, Male population is 7,918 and Female population of 8,245. Using the SefwiWiawso Municipality population growth rate of 1.8%, it is estimated that the 2020 population of the Zonal Council would stand at 16,615.

 

The Zonal Council has six (6) Electoral areas namely:

  • Tanoso

  • Ahokwaa

  • Datano

  • Dwinase

  • AsuogyaKokrokrom

  • Nsuonsua

Some communities within the area include: Datano, Owuabroso, Domeabra, Bowobra, FosuKrom Village, James Village, Moro Village, Mustapha Alhassan Village, Seth Village, Apam Village, Mumuni Village, Nazareth City, BowohoModenVilage, Kwame Brong Village, Adobea Village, Kotoko Village, Ayelga Village, Seidu Village, Awanaga Village, Shell and Apentemandi. The Zonal Council have some commercial activities such as banks, market, hospital, and educational centers. There are major roads running the Zonal Council to Asafo, Aswainso, Juaboso district and Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai.Dwinase serves as a major connector to manycommunities and a modal community for adjoining areas. The large market on Tuesday bring communities together.
