GHANA SECONDARY CITIES SUPPORT PROGRAMME COMMENCES 3-DAY ASSESSMENT AT SEFWI WIAWSO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY


The Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme (GSCSP) has launched a 3-day assessment at the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly, aiming to evaluate the municipality's urban management, infrastructure, and service delivery capacities.

During the assessment, key areas of focus will include the condition and management of critical urban infrastructure, such as roads, drainage systems, and waste management facilities. The GSCSP team will also review the municipality's planning and resource management practices. The outcome of this assessment will be pivotal in determining the next steps for Sefwi Wiawso under the GSCSP, including resource allocation and the implementation of new developmental projects.

The Municipal Chief Executive expressed optimism that the program will significantly contribute to the sustainable development of Sefwi Wiawso and improve the quality of life for its residents. He emphasized the importance of a successful assessment, stating that failure is not an option.

The 3-day assessment is expected to conclude on August 22, 2024, after which the GSCSP team will present their findings and recommendations to the Municipal Assembly.
