The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly, through the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, has commenced the disbursement of grants under the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) programme for the 94th and 95th payment cycles.

The payment exercise, which began on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, targets a total of 440 beneficiary households across 38 communities within the Municipality. This initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to alleviate poverty and provide financial relief to vulnerable groups.

Grant amounts were disbursed based on household eligibility as follows:

  • One eligible member household – GHC 512.00

  • Two eligible member household – GHC 608.00

  • Three eligible member household – GHC 704.00

  • Four eligible member household – GHC 848.00

By combining two payment cycles, the Assembly aims to deliver more meaningful and timely support to low-income families. The LEAP programme continues to serve as a cornerstone of the Municipality’s social protection strategy, working to improve the quality of life for the most disadvantaged residents.
