The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly held its first-quarter Municipal Planning Coordinating Unit (MPCU) meeting at the Municipal Assembly Hall to assess the progress of ongoing development projects and programs within the Municipality.
The meeting featured a presentation by the Municipal Planning Officer, Mr. Louis Aggrey, who outlined the guidelines for preparing the 2026-2029 District Medium-Term Development Plan (DMTDP). His presentation focused on key policy directions, development priorities, and the strategic framework necessary for achieving sustainable growth within the Municipality. He stressed on the importance of a collaborative approach in the planning process to ensure that the Municipality’s socio-economic development goals are effectively met.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Fred B. Kpodo, formed a technical team composed of MPCU members. With Mr. Kpodo serving as Chairman, the team will oversee and coordinate the entire planning process for the new development framework.
Additionally, various sub-structures of the Municipal Assembly presented status reports on their operations, achievements, challenges, and areas requiring intervention.
At the end of the session, participants reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring a well-coordinated and forward-thinking approach to development.
